Recollections of the Civil War

"Recollections of the Civil War: With the Leaders at Washington and in the Field in the Sixties" by Charles A. Dana is a memoir work by a senior government official during the Civil War. Dana spent three years as an Assistant Secretary of War, playing especially the role of the liaison between the War Department and General Ulysses S. Grant. After the war, Dana would go on to become an American journalist, author, and senior government official.
