The Hoyden

"The Hoyden" is a romantic novel set in England. Lady Rylton is not too keen on the romance between his son Maurice and the young widow Mrs. Bethune, who does not have any money to her name. Her hope is that Maurice will find a young woman with a large fortune to marry. Her chance finally comes when through a near miss incident, she becomes acquainted with Miss Bolton, a young heiress under the care of her uncle. Though Lady Rylton doesn't think much of Miss Bolton's sense of style, she nevertheless sets in motion a plan to get Maurice to marry her and take over her fortune. With very interesting consequences…
