Colin Campbell, 1st Baron Clyde, was a British soldier who was commander in chief of the British forces in India. During this period, he relieved and then vacated Lucknow. After attacking and defeating Tatya Tope at the Second Battle of Cawnpore, he captured Lucknow again. Campbell was one of the most influential commanders in history.
