A Crime On Canvas

The novel revolves around the Blantyres of Glenallan. The Blantyre estates and title were vested in Sir Arthur Blantyre, an elderly man with eccentric habits. No one dared say anything against him. But his tenants had strange stories to tell about him. Perhaps this was mainly because Sir Arthur Blantyre kept entirely to himself. His granddaughter Ethel notices that he has a habit of mysteriously disappearing periodically and remaining away for weeks. He tells no one of his going and coming. But whenever he returns, Ethel thinks he looks more anxious than before. Ethel has always wondered about the mystery that hung over the house. What is the mystery?
