A Strange Manuscript Found in a Copper Cylinder

This late nineteenth-century Canadian novel is regarded as one of the earliest works of science fiction, certainly in Canada, from where the author came. In the story, a dystopian universe is accidentally discovered when Adam More, a sailor from a private yacht, enters a cave in the Antarctic. The world is temperate, despite its latitude, but utterly different from the world Adam has left.
