"By Water to the Columbian Exposition" by Johanna Sara Wisthaler is in part a travelogue and in part an educational text. In this book, she describes two different expeditions, the first to the White City in the Chicago area of the Midwest, while the other is a less literal journey. During the Colombian Exposition, visitors were able to learn about this culture in great detail which allowed those who would never get the opportunity to travel the chance to experience some of what the country has to offer.
