THE JUMPSUIT FOR BABY 0—3 MONTHS

Materials:

• circular needles 100 cm 4 mm ( US 6)

• double-pointed needles 4 mm (US 6) – 5 needles

• buttons

• markers

Yarn:

100—120 m (110—130 yds) in 50 g (1,75 oz) for wool yarn

Yarn examples: Alize Lanagold Classic, Alize Superlana Midi

Gauge: 16 stitches x 24 rows = 10 cm x 10 cm= 4 inches x 4 inches

Knitting process

Pick up 50 chain stitches by hook of the contrast yarn.

Pick up to circular needles 4 mm 45 stitches of the yarn of the white color from chain stitches, which crocheted by hook of the contrast yarn (see photo), then knit 2 rows – slip, K43, P1

Next begin the main pattern of jumpsuit

Cut the yarn.

Transfer stitches of the left sleeve and the left button band back onto the left needle.

In 23 row begin to knit the body of jumpsuit (without sleeves):

Then begin to knit the front side of baby jumpsuit.

Take circular needles 100 cm 4 mm (US 6) and the working yarn. Cast on 29 stitches.

then 35 stitches of the front side of jumpsuit on pattern: K5, P1, K23, P1, K5

then you need to put the button bands one on the other. 7 stitches from the left button band of the back side of jumpsuit you need to transfer on the cable needle (see photo). Then knit K2tog 7 times (one stitch from the cable needle and one stitch from the circular needle, there were 14 stitches, there will be 7 stitches).

then K41 of the back side of jumpsuit. (7+35+7+41 = 90 stitches).

Then you need to knit in the round.

Round 75 (beginning of row — right button band): K2tog 7 times, K5, P1, K23, P1, K5, K2tog 7 times, K41 (90 stitches)

Round 76 (beginning of row — right button band): P8, K4, P1, K4, P15, K4, P1, K4, P49

Then in the center of the front and back of the jumpsuit you need to place the markers (1 stitch between the markers)

Then transfer to the contrast yarn 58 stitches (44 stitches of the right leg +14 stitches between the legs) and knit the left leg on the five double pointed needles 4 mm on pattern in the round. There are 44 stitches for the left leg.

In 27 round begin to knit the ribbing – one knit stitch – one purl stitch (K1,P1). Knit the ribbing 16 rounds. Then bind off 40 stitches of the left sleeve. The left leg is ready.

Similary knit the right leg.

Transfer 7 sts of the front gusset and the 7 sts of the back gusset to waste yarn. Then transfer stitches of the right leg from waste yarn to the needle and knit the right leg on the five double pointed needles 4 mm (US 6) on pattern in the round. There are 44 stitches in the right leg.
