R. D. Blackmore, was one of the most famous English novelists of the second half of the nineteenth century. Known for his ability to paint a vivid picture of the English countryside, his books captured the hearts of readers for decades. Slain by the Doones, Frida: or the lover's leap, George Bowring, and Crocker's hole are all examples of his witty and expert words and serve as a wonderful collection of stories.
