Geoffrey Chaucer was an English poet, author, and civil servant best known for The Canterbury Tales. He has been called the «father of English literature» or, alternatively, the «father of English poetry.» This book is an essay about Chaucer's life and works within the context of his time in period in England and how it influenced his ability to create his iconic poetry.
