Springfield in the Spanish American War

"Springfield in the Spanish American War" by Walter W. Ward is a history of the Second Massachusetts Voluntary Militia from Springfield, Massachusetts, in the Spanish American War. The author, Walter W. Ward, was a Sergeant in Company G of that unit. This text was originally written with the purpose of providing a diary of the lives of individuals in the Second Massachusetts for relatives and friends of those who served in the unit. However, it's gone on to become an even more important piece of America's history.
