The War Book of the German General Staff

This book is a literal translation of the 'Kriegsbrauch im Landkriege', reissued by the German General Staff to instruct German officers on war protocol during World War I. At the time, the text was the most authoritative work of its kind in Germany and took precedence over all other military or legal publications. This book also explains how the Prussian military tradition relates to German morals and policy. The introduction includes a short essay on Treitschke, a criticism of German diplomacy and politics, and a study of German professors.
